Here are some common questions about M2.

What size companies do you typically work with?

We have worked with a variety of companies, from small start-ups to major Fortune 500 companies.  Using a handcrafted approach tailored to each client, we bring big company rigor and discipline in tandem with a pragmatic and practical approach suited for companies of ranging sizes.

Do you work solely on Food and Beverage projects?

No, we have considerable experience with both Qualitative and Quantitative Research on non-food and industrial products. Our customized research provides guidance not only for product development but also for marketing and engineering direction.

We have an idea and we think we know what we need how can you help us?

This is very common for us.  Once we sit down with you, we may uncover areas that you may have overlooked. Depending on your needs, we can offer assistance with product development, commercial formulation, ingredient sourcing, procedures and specification generation, COG costing and material forecasting, manufacturing support (self or co-packing), logistics, production planning.  We can also provide ongoing QA and R&D support.

How large is your normal assignment?

Typically, we find that with the smaller companies we tend to provide more services since they may not have all of the resources internally. With larger companies, we tend to provide just the services needed for a single stage or phase of a project.

Can you help with Ideation and Innovation?

Absolutely. We have considerable experience working with teams and consumers/end users to uncover the key attributes that would provide a competitve edge or point of differentiation for your product, nuances critical for success. In this arena we work with both food/beverage and non-food products.

We have a full management team, can you come in and provide just one part of a project?

While we provide a spectrum of product development and consumer testing services, clients can specifically choose what meets their needs from a single stage task to a full turnkey process. Oftentimes, our clients will have the resources but they are shorthanded or have more projects that they can handle so they work with M2 to handle a specific task.

What do you mean “Handcrafted Approach”?

We recognize that each product category has its own unique nuances. Our “handcrafted approach” includes employing best industry practices methodologies in tandem with customized approaches. Clients are able to hand select from a range of services and functions to address their needs. These functions align with a single stage task, several tasks to a full turnkey process.

We have the ability to lead a project from ideation, product prototyping, consumer/customer testing, product refinement, commercialization, first production and our program allows you to select any of those functions that you may need assistance.  We can tackle a single stage, several tasks to a full turnkey process.

We currently have a product and we want to make changes, what do you typically do?

We will work with your team to fully understand your objectives then customize programs to gauge the potential impact of your project.  We may tap into your customers and/or consumers to identify their unmet needs or gauge their acceptance on a proposed change or new product.

We have a product/service and we want modify it to increase our sales, can you help?

Yes, we would develop tools to gauge the importance of a new feature, changes to the product, or the impact of revised branding on your product and determine the potential impact to sales.

We have a product and we need to reduce cost, can you help?

Yes, we have the ability to review your current manufacturing process and review your sourcing opportunities, formulation/ingredients, manufacturing and logistics cost for your product.

We have a quality/operational problem, can you help?

Yes, we have the experience to look for root causes of a problem and recommend changes to your process for elimination of your problem.

We have an existing product and we want to make changes, will our changes make an impact to our sales?

Very possibly.  Hopefully the impact will be positive with greater sales, unfortunately, your changes could have a negative impact to your core customers and any new potential customers.  We would work with you to design a strategy to create positive results to your proposed change.
